WillaRx’s Medication Call Reminder was born from a deeply personal experience. Our founder, acting as a devoted son and long-distance caregiver, witnessed firsthand the challenges his mother, Willa, faced in consistently remembering her medication. This personal struggle sparked the idea for a simple, yet powerful solution.
Leveraging his expertise in IVR (Interactive Voice Response) technology, he created a daily reminder call system. Willa didn’t even realize it was an automated call; she simply enjoyed the voice of the “nice lady” reminding her. This positive feedback was the catalyst, motivating him to offer the unique option for users to record personalized reminder messages, allowing loved ones to hear a familiar voice.
Recognizing a Widespread Need
Beyond personal experience, our founder also brought extensive professional experience as a Field Care Manager for a Medicare Advantage program. In this role, he visited members in their homes, assessing their psycho/social and medical needs. It quickly became clear that many individuals shared similar challenges with remembering their medication, often leading to adverse health outcomes.
This widespread need solidified his realization: there was a significant gap for a reliable and affordable reminder service that could genuinely benefit many people. It was this dual insight—personal and professional—that led to the birth of Medication Call Reminder.
